THE COTLEY (just up the road in Wambrook) is a destination pub with rooms, shaped by award-winning food and a deep respect for British produce, but never at the expense of its role as a true local. It’s a place for long lunches, celebrations and stays, just as much as it is a place to drop in for a pint at the bar on a Friday night. Elevated but unpretentious, The Cotley balances refinement with familiarity, a pub that welcomes travellers while remaining a cornerstone of its community.
THE CANDLELIGHT is the Cotley’s sibling, not quite a twin, but unmistakably family. A proper pub first and foremost. Its focus is on exceptional bar snacks, well-kept beers and comforting pub classics. It’s a place for spontaneous visits, for lingering at the bar and for easy evenings that don’t require an occasion. While it shares the Cotley’s commitment to quality and hospitality, the Candlelight is freer in spirit, simpler in form and rooted deeply in everyday village life.
We are delighted to have retained our listing in the Michelin Guide for 2026, thanks to the incredible hard work and creativity of our team both in the kitchen and front of house.
