Redefined Hospitality brings together The Cotley Inn and The Candlelight under one shared philosophy built around place, people and produce. Both pubs are different in character, but they are grounded in the same approach to food, hospitality and connection to the land.

Locally Sourced
Produce
Our menus are shaped by the seasons and what is available locally, much of it from the Cotley Estate itself. Working closely with the land means ingredients travel only metres, not miles, from our kitchen garden and nearby Cotley Farm.
We use Ruby Red Devon cattle, locally reared lamb, our own pigs, and a wide range of seasonal vegetables and herbs. This close relationship with farming and growing gives us full traceability and allows us to cook with freshness and integrity.
In the kitchen we keep things simple and focused on flavour. British cooking is at the heart of what we do, supported by traditional techniques such as smoking meats, fish and dairy in-house to build depth while respecting the ingredients.
The Pubs
The Cotley Inn is our estate-led pub with rooms, shaped by its setting and focused on seasonal food that reflects the land around it. It is a destination rooted in the countryside and the produce of the estate.
The Candlelight is its sibling, a more informal neighbourhood pub. It has a personal history for Maddie and Ben, who first met there before returning years later to run it together. It offers a relaxed take on pub dining, from bar snacks and classics to well-kept beers and generous Sunday roasts.
Hospitality
At the centre of both pubs is hospitality. Many of our team are local, helping create a welcoming and familiar atmosphere from the moment you arrive.
Whether it is a quick drink, a long meal or a stay at The Cotley, the aim is the same: honest food, thoughtful sourcing and a relaxed place to spend time, under Redefined Hospitality.

Everything we do at The Cotley and Candlelight is guided by a genuine passion for good food, warm hospitality and the setting we are fortunate to call home. From the way we source our ingredients to the care taken in the kitchen and the welcome you receive at the door, there is a shared commitment across the team to do things properly. It is not about following trends, but about staying true to what feels right for the pub, the estate and the people who visit us. This passion is what brings The Cotley to life each day and is what keeps guests returning time and again.
